Transformers: Dark of the Moon



Mixed feelings in general about this movie. I mean, I love Transformers movie Part 1 but part 2 was kinda disappointing. So hopefully part 3 is way way better than before. Anyway, Patrick Dempsey is in this movie, but he did not give many details about his character, just saying that his character is kinda shady.

Looks funny. It's Adam Sandler movie so it has to be funny. Beside, there's Jennifer Aniston. I love her! I just hope this movie is going to be a success! Her previous movies like Bounty Hunter and The Switch are flops in the box office.

I am kinda skeptical about this movie. I mean, it's cowboys & aliens - how much weirder can it get. But, Jon Favreau, Ron Howard, Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde - all these HUGE names are associated to this one movie. So.. I might as well just take that risk and watch it.

Saved or not?

Wait, wait! Was Mark Zuckerberg just in time to save his reputation? You be the judge. Firstly, of course he denied the claims that's made in the movie, saying it's just a movie. And I quote, "A lot of it is fiction". Well, let's see. The lawsuit by his ex-best friend and the canoing twins are definitely true (wiki it). His ex-best friend's, who was also the CFO, ownership was cut from 30% to 0.3%. (definitely). Sean Parker definitely was busted for cocaine possession (again wiki it). I'm sure some of the details, the writer had to make it up but i mean like maybe 20-25% made up right? While the rest are most probably true, so seriously which part of it is fiction? Hmmm. Look, I'm not dissing this guy. He's practically a genius for making Facebook possible, and in this interview he seems like a nice guy. But I mean it just doesn't fit, so I'm confused (I love puzzles, you see).

I wonder if there'll be a movie about the creators of youtube/twitter? Are they gonna be as interesting as FB's founding story? Hmmm.. Or maybe Steve Jobs? I hear he has an interesting character?

What an incredible movie! Yes, it's all about Facebook. Boring? Nope, never a dull moment in this movie. The scenes between the intense legal disputes and behind-the-scenes making of the website was intriguing. Alongside the smart script and funny dialogues in between, it was really entertaining to watch. And with the drama about relationships, friendships and partnerships, that's when you feel much for the characters in the movie (and in real life). You can't help but to feel sad for co-founder Eduardo Saverin, and maybe even more sadder for high-IQ-low-EQ Mark Zuckerberg; and disgusted with "villain" Sean Parker (played by Justin Timberlake).

From start right up til the end of the movie, it's based on facts. From what kind of beer Mark drank in his Harvard dorm room to the break-up rant on his blog, apparently it's all true. They have close sources, they say. (Tsk tsk, it's none other than the Hollywood actress herself, Natalie Portman, as one of their source. She studied at Harvard from 1999-2003 and dated a member of the famous Porcellian Club. She heard about the movie in its very initial stage and so she called up Aaron for a dinner to tell him some stories. And that's how Aaron Sorkin got his facts.)

"It's not my job to help his image. I'm not his press rep or his rabbi. But in the end, I didn't feel like I was damaging him. I felt like I was painting of him, as opposed to taking picture of him." Aaron Sorkin, the writer of the movie, mentioned and thus prove that the movie depicts Mark Zuckerberg in true light.

Anyway, great acting by Jesse Eisenberg (pictured right). There's an Oscar buzz for his great performance as Facebook co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg. You'd probably recognize him from Zombieland. (Don't confuse him with Michael Cera from the comedy Arrested Development or movie, Juno). And that's Andrew Garfield (left) as Eduardo Saverin, the other co-founder of Facebook. And in case you didn't know, Andrew is the next Spiderman! (I find the actor cute when he doesn't smile. HAHA, just saying! :P)

I just love, love the movie. It's not your typical Hollywood movie with happy endings. This is it, the real thing! I'm not saying all factual-based movies are great while other genres suck! Some fictional movies like Inception are exceptionally GOOD. The writing takes a lot of imagination and creativity. (I love Inception. The smartest movie ever!) Anyway, The Social Network is a must-watch movie!

Dancing with the Stars

Mark Ballas VS Val Chmerkovskiy in "Toxic Duel" (Men, who not only play the instruments well, but also dance well?! Now I believe in Heaven! hehe just kidding!)



This clip is from the show "Dancing with the Stars". This show is a HUGE hit in US! Basically, the show is about a dance competition between stars. The stars will be pair up with another professional dancer and they will learn how to dance from these pros. Stars (more like have-been stars) like Mel B (from Spice Girls), Nicole (from Pussycat Dolls), Michael Bolton (singer) and many more have been in this competition. And every week one couple will get eliminated. Who determines it? Judges + public votes. =) And now I'm getting hooked to the show! I know Singapore does not air it so... hehe :) Anyway this clip is a treat for audience I guess? Val Chmerkovskiy is not one of the professional dancer in DWTS but his brother, Maksim, is! And his brother is equally good. Mark Ballas is currently partnered with Bristol Palin (yes, Sarah Palin's daughter) and they are still in the competition.

I love Maksim in last season cos him and his partner, Erin, are so cute together. They totally have chemistry. Him with Brandy, nah! It looks like the chemistry is forced upon. Anyway, that's what I think.

Yes, I've got nothing better to do but to blog about competition shows. Blahs! I know I've not been blogging much about what's happening in my life. Ok , more like nothing. It's cos my life is pretty much messed up right now. I'm clueless as to where I'm headed. I don't really have a backup plan. About 1 year and a half after the controversial interview with David Letterman , Joaquin (Waa-Keen) Phoenix is back to clear up the air. Yes, it's just a hoax in part of the new mockumentary movie with director, Casey Affleck (acted in Ocean's trilogy, remember him?). Yahooooo! I knew it! He's just way too talented to be a rapper. Some people think it's a stupid move for this movie, but I think it's a risk taking and brave move, which I salute! =) The movie is called, "I'm still here".

this movie seems good. i don't know why i'm really looking forward to this movie (maybe cos there's matt damon. haha) but the plot line somehow intrigues me. cos i've thought about this before. as in like what if the decisions we make are not truly ours. ok, i know some people will insert religion belief as the answer and then no further qn will be asked. but u know, one of those moments when ur imagination is running wild and then u think it through u know? anyway never mind. my friend, nurul, is really looking forward to this movie though. yeah, another movie that has a very unique plot line. "Your mind is the scene of the crime". that statement itself is so powerful and sound really complex. i think that one line hooked me. i can't wait to see the movie. and also it's directed by christopher nolan! the dark knight - i love that movie.

oh man, i've got so many things to talk about, but i'm so mentally drained i don't really know what to say. but now that exams are over, there's plenty of opportunities to blog in the future aye? :)

well, my first paper was on last saturday - maths/stats. i did alright for my stats but i'm gonna flunk real hard for my maths paper. =\ like what i said, i'm super darn UNLUCKY! whatever that i studied for maths (which was at LEAST 3/4), only 1 out of 8 questions was something i was familiar with. i mean, really? well, stats - i'm not gonna say i'm gonna pass with flying colours, but it's way easier than maths. i didn't do some of the questions, cos that some was the 1/4 topic i did not study. but well, what u gonna do right?

funny thing was the invigilator. we were in this huge hall, and i think most of us are first year students so we were kinda not know what to expect. so we went around the hall like goats. ok, i dunno why i said goats but anyway. it was 15 minutes of chaos. and we actually started 10 minutes late. it's alright, it was still a 2 hours paper. but this invigilator, say in her mid thirties? she was like u know, raising her voice out of frustration. funny thing is, she had this huge purple ribbon on her hair. yeah it was a hairpin, but it was like huge. i mean, i was sitting at the back, and i can see it clearly. and there she was with her ridiculously huge ribbon on her hair and scolding us. i was the only one who noticed this and i kinda chuckled alone. i mean, cool it minnie mouse! its not the end of the world!

right now, i feel like i'm in daze. i dont know what's my next step. i mean, should i, or should i not? wow, and i really don't know. i think my brain cells are like on a traffic jam or something. its like, everything all stopped. i think the traffic light broke down or something. hmmm..



the office's version of wedding dance. i wanna get married like this. and no, not the wedding dance march. my parents gonna have a heart attack! i wanna get married near the waterfall! so cool right! (jim and pam did 2 wedding vows. they did their vows near the waterfall first (just them), then the traditional wedding next just to please their family and friends). and i find it sweet that michael scott had tears in his eyes. shows that his eq is not 0. (unlike some people! pffffft. some people just disgust me. to think that once upon a time i called them friends. BITCH!)
